Joacim has been a part of LC since January 2014 and has been working as Trader since the beginning of 2016. Joacim holds a master’s degree in finance.

My role at LC

As a part of our trading floor, my task is to execute orders according to our trading strategy for this market. This can be very challenging due to for instance low liquidity and changing market conditions. At the same time, it is important that I respond quickly and have the courage to trade when good opportunities arise.

A typical day

On a typical day, I arrive at 8.15 a.m. and leave around 5.30 p.m. My day begins with reading about the development in the market since the market closed yesterday. After the opening, I am fully focused on market trends and optimal execution of our orders.

The best thing about my job

The best thing about my job here at LC is definitely that things are taken to the extremes. Decisions have to be made very fast, and we are trading for large amounts of money. Often, we are chasing only margins, and therefore the timing is essential. Furthermore, during my working day, I constantly have to take news and new opportunities into account. Because of that, I am never bored at work.

Ambitious colleagues

At LC, all employees are very ambitious, and they work hard to constantly develop the company. This environment and the company culture mean a lot to me and my team, because if we experience problems that we cannot handle ourselves, we have highly qualified resources to draw on.

A fast-paced environment  

My work day is often hectic because of the ever-changing market conditions. Therefore, it is very important to stay focused and react really fast. This hectic environment and the pressure it cause, is part of what makes my work days exciting.

Open-minded and winning 

At LC, our survival depends on new, great ideas. This means that it is important that we are open-minded towards new ideas and thoughts. For us as traders, no ideas or possibilities are too small or too big to be discussed.

Every week, we have meetings with the aim of boosting our idea generation to secure future earnings. When we succeed with something new or achieve great results, the winner’s mentality at LC is very visible. We ring the bell on trading floor, and more unusual results are celebrated with cake or even social events.
